All mail-flow stopped [430 4.2.0 STOREDRV; mailbox logon failure]
I have Windows 2003 x64 with Exchange 2007 installed. Everything was working fine about 18 months. Yesterday all mail-flow stopped. External messages arrive and are stored in "MapiDelivery" queue with the following error: >>> Last Error: 430 4.2.0 STOREDRV; mailbox logon failure Outgoing messages apper in "Sent" folder in Outlook, but never reach sender (neither internal nor external). There is only one warning in event log:>>>>Event Type:WarningEvent Source:MSExchangeMailSubmissionEvent Category:MSExchangeMailSubmission Event ID:1009Date:10/25/2008Time:9:25:32 PMUser:N/AComputer:MAIL2007Description:The Microsoft Exchange Mail Submission service is currently unable to contact any Hub Transport servers in the local Active Directory site. The servers may be too busy to accept new connections at this time.>>>> Another strange things I've noticed: - I can't see any mailbox account in Exchange Management Console under "Recipient Configuration -> Disconnected Mailbox" - Under "Organization Configuration" in Exchange Management Console I can see 9 (nine) records for "Exchange Administrators", but before that problem I could see there 3 or 4 records only (I don't remember exactly) What I've tried:1. Changed "Log on as" in serveices to "Network Service" for "Microsoft Exchange Transport" service2. Mounted/Dismounted mailbox database (run "isinteg" and "eseutil" on that mailbox store).3. Run "setup /p" from Exchange DVD4. Disabled antivirus filters. Nothing helped!!! Local delivery queue continues to grow because of incoming messages. No messages can be sent. Any ideas???

Hi, First please follow the below method to attempt to correct the issue. 1. Please try to uninstall Anti-Virus application and restart/reboot the server. 2. Ping NetBios name of the HUB server. Be sure it resolves to the correct internal IP address. Or try to access the hub server from the mailbox server by running \\<servername>\c$ as well as \\<Hub_IP_address>\c$ 3. Run net time /set \\dcfqdn (where dcfqdn is the FQDN of the domain controller) to sync system time with DC. 4. Please check permission settings for "Exchange Servers". 1). Using ADSIEdit.msc navigate to the Exchange server object and view the properties.2). Switch to the Security tab and click Advanced.3). Sort the columns by "Name" and locate the entries for "Exchange Servers"4). Verify if there are explicit Deny Exchange Servers settings (4) for problematic account following rights:Store Constrained DelegationStore Read and Write AccessStore Read only AccessStore Transport Access By Default Exchange Servers will explicitly be allowed these rights at the server level, but denied these rights at the Org level. 5. Check for Manage auditing and security logs on the Default Domain Controllers Policy to see if the "Exchange Servers" group is present there. 6. Please check which account that Microsoft Exchange Mail Submission service uses to logon. It should be local system. 1). Click Start-Run.2). Type Services.msc3). Select "Microsoft Exchange Mail Submission" service.4). Right click and Select property.5). Select Log on Tab.6). Select Local System account option.7). Apply.8). Ok. 7. Please verify whether you have modify the permission on C: from mail server. If the customer has a drive on the system with the correct permissions set you can run the following Power Shell command to copy the permissions" get-acl <good drive> | set-acl c:\ " Besides, please try to check the event log from Hub Server and Mail Server and post the detail event information here. Hope it helps. Xiu
